The Land of Me is a suite of six creative software activities for children aged 2-6 to play with grown-ups. Each activity has been designed with a leading early years professor to help support children’s pre-school development and creativity.
The goal of the Land of Me is to enable adults to engage in creative, role playing activities with children, while immersed in an overarching narrative involving a host of lovable characters.
The Land of Me encourages adults to take the lead through a window that gives tips on every stage of the activity.
The visual content of the app is based in high quality graphics, illustration, animation & sound, created with the intention of engaging with adults first. This really sets The Land of Me apart from any other software created for children. |
|
Illustration within the application is inspired by classic children’s picture books, with each separate module referred to as a chapter. This product aims to fill a gap in the market of screen based educational entertainment between DVDs & TV shows that children often passively watch for hours and various stand-alone educational software that do not utilise the role of an adult.
The Land of Me is re-addressing the balance by creating a triangle of interaction between child, software & adult.
